4 Ways To Prevent Basketball Injuries

Tips On Preventing Basketball Injuries

  1. Make sure you are always anticipating the play before it happens. Where injuries really happen is when players are not alert and they get caught watching the game instead of being in the flow of the game.
  2. Getting a good pre-game warm up. It is vital that you break a good sweat before the game actually tips off. It’s like a car sitting in the cold weather overnight. You want to give the car a chance to warm up before you actually just hop in the car and take off. Your body is the same way. Always give your body a chance to warm up before you just go out there and starting going a 100mph.
  3. Drink plenty of water. You must keep your body hydrated. This will give you the opportunity to play at the intensity level that you desire. You would want to drink plenty of water before, during and after the game.
  4. Stretching is important as well. You must make sure your muscles are loose and ready for a 60-90 minute game. This prevents injuries and cramps from happening.
